This pic cracks me up

She hasn’t lost the attitude in the 7 years since this was taken and he is just as laid back as ever.  Until he has had enough and then he digs his heels in and she knows she has pushed him too far.

 

Sports and my kids

WT likes football and that is it.  No other sports.  He doesn’t like to watch football as much as I do, he does like playing it.  He is enjoying his weight lifting but that is just to keep score on how well he is doing against himself and others.

KB – sports?  Haha.  She is playing softball right now but there is no deep love of it.  It is a social experience, a chance to wear a uniform.  She is more excited about her Dazzlers clinic coming up.

But CT is all about sports.  He watches football with me and asks all kinds of questions.  He is loving baseball in a big way.  He has played soccer and basketball.  He isn’t a great athlete yet but he has the kind of body that says he might be when he finds his groove in the right sport. 

And tonight, he laid down and watched the first period of the Stars/Sharks playoff game.  He was asking all kind of questions and had lots of ideas of the best way to handle the puck.  He did tell me that he wouldn’t play hockey.  I told him that lots of kids his age do play hockey and I saw the look of amazement on his face.  Then I told him that my baby brother had played hockey too.  Wow, he was all kinds of impressed (actually it is impressive since Ryan doesn’t know how to ice skate, he was a very stationary goalie).  I wish I could run him up to Boston to see KimmieD’s kids play. 

He made me smile in a big way tonight.

 

My new fridge

Ok if you are here to read some great deep thoughts, it ain’t happening in this post.  This is a very domesticated post.

I got my new to me fridge.  The good news is I got it for about $200 cheaper than I would have gotten a very brand new one, plus it is the Clean Steel look, which would have been a lot more than the $200+ I saved.  It is in good shape.  All of the feature work, although the ice maker is slow to fill up the bin.  But a couple of days and we will be in good shape.  I love a nice clean fridge.  Let’s hope I can keep this one clean.

The only downside is that it has deep scratches on the front and based on my research there is no way to touch it up.  Most of it isn’t too noticeable and I certainly can live with it but I’m sad about it.

The other downside was that they had a can of coffee grounds in there and it definitely smelled of coffee.  Then we forgot to remove the open can before moving it, so I got the pleasure of vaccuuming out a fridge.  That was fun.  Not.  And I’m anxious for the smell to be gone.  I had to replace the filter just to get the taste out of the water.

I have cleaned out the old fridge (I had gone too long between cleanings) and it is waiting for the ex to move it to the garage.  He says he wants it when he moves in a few months.  Personally I think he is a fool to take it, it is will still be an old fridge waiting to die.
